...he wrote that in 1797 before water softeners and reverse osmosis was invented. But, seriously, in Coleridge's time, being surrounded by sea water meant praying for rain if drinking water was in short supply. Today, we routinely desalinate ocean water for drinking purposes by separating water molecules from a myriad of harsh elements.
Many
people don't know that this same technology is affordable and fits under
most kitchen sinks! It's called "Reverse Osmosis" (R.O.)
and is truly a miracle of modern science. What
will surprise you most, perhaps, is how few
components are actually required! Hopefully, you don't
have salt in your water, but R.O. technology can
be used with a well or city water supply to extract water molecules, again,
from a myriad of other elements. Your family
